Road To NFL Preseason Week 3 Part 1

On August 25, 2015, in Sporting News, by admin

NFLWe are about to enter week 3 of a preseason riddled with injuries, changes in formation and the testing of possible combinations for the franchises, these will be the most important games so far going into the campaign, since most of the teams will use their starters in the first series of the third quarter so this week is a more realistic approach into how the projected structures of the teams will handle (though the plays are much simpler). Here are some interesting expectations for the preseason and the start of the regular season, plus some players to keep an eye out for:

Replacement of Jordy Nelson

One of the biggest news was the injury suffered by wide receiver Jordy Nelson in preseason week 2 , Nelson tore his anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) without any contact from the Steelers in Sunday night game, this is considered one of the most unfortunate injuries for a football player and the main reason 22 players last offseason faced the harsh reality of probably missing the season completely as the expected recovery time from the injury is from 6-8 weeks; what player will take more relevance in the Packers powerful offense this weekend?, eyes on Davante Adams.

The rookie quarterbacks

Which of the rookie quarterbacks has done a better job so far in these past weeks, the upcoming games this weekend will give the perfect opportunity to see the handle and get rid of any ‘jitters’ left for the rookies before embarking into the regular season, the main goal is to see who plays better in the most important games of preseason: Jameis Winston or Marcus Mariota.

For how long will Tom Brady play?

Tom Brady’s activity this season has been almost nonexistent, the Patriots may be preparing for the start of the regular season without him or for at least a few games. How much time will Jimmy Garoppolo need to adjust into the team efficiently?, and how powerful can Tom Brady really be against the Carolina Panthers? after virtually no action for the past several months, add the unrest from his court appearances and “deflategate” itself.
