kevin durant golden state warriorsThe Golden State Warriors started the postseason in strong fashion as they had a dominant victory (113-92) in Game 1 of their first-round series against the San Antonio Spurs. Golden State hammered the Spurs 113-92 at Oracle Arena. The Spurs must win Game 2 tonight to avoid a 0-2 hole before the series move to Texas.

In Game 1 Golden State held the Spurs to only 17 points in the first quarter. The Warriors started the postseason without star point guard Stephen Curry, who’s already been ruled out for this entire series against San Antonio.

Player of the night: Kevin Durant carried the team with a great Game 1 performance as he finished with 24 points, nine rebounds and seven assists in 32 minutes of action. Golden State’s Klay Thompson led all scorers with 27 points.

For the Spurs, LaMarcus Aldridge was the only player to finish with double figures as San Antonio shot a mediocre 40 percent from the floor.
