NASCARAfter his bad race in Charlotte Kevin Harvick was virtually eliminated from the Chase for the Sprint Cup; however, after winning the Hollywood Casino 400 at the Kansas Speedway, the Californian has automatically advanced to the Eliminator Round where only the top eight drivers have a chance to win the title.

Harvick, 2014 NASCAR’s Champion, won for the fourth time this year as he beat Carl Edwards and Joey Logano to the checkered flag. Jimmie Johnson came in fourth and Kyle Buschr rounded the Top 5.

Harvich, who won the second race of the Chase, led three times in the race for a total of 74 laps. After an accident to Regan Smith brought out the eight caution of the race, Harvick took his last lead at the ensuing restart. With 30 laps remaining he overtook Carl Edwards and he held him off the rest of the way to take his third win in the last 10 races.

After this race, point wise, the following drivers would be eliminated from the Chase: Austin Dillon, Denny Hamlin, Chase Elliott y Brad Keselowski.

Keselowski was leading the race on lap 189, but had to abandon the race after Denny Hamlin bumped into his #2 car and sent him spinning.

The next race will be the Hellmann’s 500, this Saturday at the Talladega Superspeedway, where the final six drivers that will advance will be decided.

The good news for Keselowski is that he won there in May with a superb performance, and he will need another one if he wants to keep his hopes of advancing alive.
