Once again this year, the big Las Vegas Sports Book LVH SuperBook hosted its second annual SuperContest Weekend. Players from all walks of life enjoyed a wide variety of activities including playing a little golf and picking up on some free betting advice along with a chance to win one of the five $1,500 SuperContest entries raffled off over the weekend.
LVH VP Jay Kornegay put together the programs and Brian Blessing of Linemakers hosted a 3 hour event featuring some of the top names in the business who advised participants on a wide range of topics on sports wagering including what are the best and worst types of wagers to make.
Mitch Moss of ESPN Radio was the moderator of an all star panel which included two time SuperContest winner Steve Fezzik, Linemaker’s Micah Roberts, Dave Tuley from ViewfromVegas.com and the Editor-in-Chief of ESPN Magazine Chad Millman. Savvy bettors were lining up to hear what these guys had to say.
This panel advised bettors on what types of wagers they should be making throughout the season for them to have the best chance to maintain a profit all year long. Next came another stellar panel of experts to discuss which college football teams will have the highest win potential….either betting for or against.
The moderator of this elite group was Steve Cofield of ESPN Radio leading some of the finest handicapping minds in the country including Dave Cokin, also of ESPN Radio, Brian Edwards of VegasInsider.com, Gold Sheet’s Bruce Marshall and Oddsmaker Kenny White of Don Best.
The pro football segment followed and once again featured some of the top names in the industry. Famous handicapper Scott Spreitzer moderated a panel consisting of Marco D’Angelo of Pregame.com, Ted Sevransky of SportsMemo.com, Don Best analyst Todd Fuhrman and Matt Youmans of the Las Vegas Review.
When asked why the LVH SuperBook went to all the trouble to put on such an extravaganza when no other book did so, Jay Korngay explained, “We believe the SuperContest Weekend has a tremendous potential for football fans of all levels, and the event can certainly benefit the entire property.
Any bettor…large or small….no matter how long he or she has been at it, could not have failed to pick up at least some small pearls of wisdom from listening to this assembled group of industry insiders. Those who listened well will surely stand a better chance of coming out of the upcoming high season in the black.
