NCAACollege doesn’t start for another month or so, but wise bettors have been studying up on the 2013 NCAA football season and have some pretty solid opinions when it comes to which programs will excel and which will fall short this fall.

No University athletic program in the country has been under such close scrutiny at that of Ohio State and its second year head coach Urban Meyer. Meyer has been under fire of late with fallout from the Aaron Hernandez case… a player who played his college football under Meyer at the University of Florida. Reporters have been all too happy to bring up the unsightly arrest record for Florida footballers from 2005 until 2010 which totals a surprising 31 arrests.

It has not helped Meyer’s case that 3 members of his current Buckeye squad were arrested in separate incidents recently. Whenever Urban Meyer starts to talk about football the questions inevitably turn the subject back to criminal activities.

However, not even the press can keep sharp players in Nevada and elsewhere from wagering on Ohio State football for next year.

The Buckeyes have been one of the most popular college football proposition wagers over the summer but wise bettors are already bracing themselves for some rather severe pointspreads on Ohio State games with the Buckeyes already listed as +20 point favorites in over half of their scheduled games this fall.

Meyer has already proven that the Buckeyes can get the job done by going 12-0 last year but being ineligible for post-season play as per NCAA sanctions. Next seasons win totals are set at 11 with the Over all the way from -160 to +175 depending on where you look.

Ohio State’s odds to win the Big Ten Conference outright are +125… to win the whole BCS Championship at +800.  Ohio State verses Alabama is one very popular BCS Bowl fantasy for many fans and writers alike.

Speaking of Alabama and the Southeastern Conference, another very popular team with early bettors this year is the Georgia Bulldogs. Vegas insiders tell us that Georgia’s near upset of Alabama in the SEC Championship Game and their 2nd half domination of Nebraska in their bowl game has given bettors the courage to back the Bulldogs in next seasons play.  The Bulldog’s win total for next year is set at 9.5 (Over -120 to -135).  Their odds to win the tough SEC are +300 and +2,000 to take the BCS Championship for 2014.
