The Baltimore Orioles (28-72) return to Camden Yards to face the Boston Red Sox (70-31) in a three-game series starting tonight.
After getting swept in Toronto to begin the second half of the season, the Orioles will battle the team with the best record in all of baseball as they kick off a seven-game homestand.
After their three straight losses in Canada, the struggling Orioles now have a miserable 5-13 record in July and could once again amass another 20-loss month.
The Red Sox, who won two of three against the Detroit Tigers at Comerica Park, are beginning to pull away in the race for the top seed in the majors and in the race for the division title thanks to what has so far been an impressive July.
They have gone 14-3 run this month and a 21-5 record over their last 26 contests and as a result currently own a five-game lead over the second-place New York Yankees.
